無色單斜結(jié)晶或白色結(jié)晶性粉末。熔點120℃（分解），d 1_982。具有很強的氧化性和腐蝕性。完全干燥的過硫酸銨不易分解，潮濕的過硫酸銨會逐漸分解，放出氧氣和臭氧。易溶于水，其水溶液在室溫下也會分解。與還原劑、有機物、易燃物或金屬粉末等混合可形成爆炸性混合物。

利用電解法，由硫酸銨和硫酸配制成電解液，經(jīng)除雜質(zhì)后進行電解，HS04在陽極放電生成過二硫酸，再與硫酸銨反應(yīng)得到過硫酸銨。當(dāng)陽極液中過硫酸銨含量達到一定濃度后，經(jīng)過濾、晶、離心分離、干燥即可。

大鼠經(jīng)口LDso：820mg/kg。助燃，具腐蝕性、剌激性，可致人體灼傷。對皮膚黏膜有刺激性和腐蝕性。吸入后引起鼻炎、喉炎、氣短和咳嗽等。眼、皮膚接觸可引起強烈刺激、疼痛甚至灼傷?？诜鸶雇?、惡心和嘔吐。工作人員應(yīng)作好防護，若不慎觸及皮膚和眼睛，應(yīng)立即用大量流動清水沖洗。貯存于陰涼、干燥倉庫內(nèi)，遠離火種、熱源。不可與有機物、還原劑、易燃易爆等物品混貯混運。
